Chapter 3: Season of Sorrows
This is our third chapter installment of the sitewide plot! To move on, we need the available threads to be signed up for and completed by our members!
This time around, we're limiting the amount of threads to be signed up for in hopes that will help move the month along quicker! All players are encouraged to use the content in this timeline to have spin-off threads and related plots of their own! We don't want to limit you in your creativity and stories!
A Few Important Reminders...
- Sitewide Plot threads should be prioritized! The quicker these move along, the quicker we can move the plot along!
- Please don't sign up for a thread if you don't think you can keep up with it.
- You are allowed to sign up for multiple threads with multiple characters, but please ensure the events in this timeline don't clash with your characters' timelines!
- All replies in the second posting round will be subject to our limited posting window. Each person will have 3 days to reply before they can be skipped!
- If you're a thread leader, it's your responsibility to start the thread and keep it going! Don't let it get stuck on one person for two weeks; remember the limited posting window!
- Threads that are the direct result of another will go in chronological order with the next thread only being created after the other is nearly completed.
- Please make sure to mark plot threads with the new "P!" tag so we all know it's a sitewide plot thread!
To sign up for a thread, please check that it has a "Participants" section listed beneath it. If it does, it's a thread requiring sign-ups! Please fill out the form below for each thread you'd like to sign up for.

FEB 1: A Dodger passes by an alleyway on their travels when they smell something terrible. Curious as they may be, they venture over to check it out and much to their morbidity, they find one of their gangmates, Hydra, dead, mangled, and rotting. Immediately, they call for the Boss to alert them of this crime! There are many residual smells, but one of them sticks out the most: Yardies.
FEB 2: Most of the Yardies are in their new home now and some new things are in order. Daire brings together all the Yardies to make some announcements about their new home and what she expects from her faithful followers going forward.
- PARTICIPANTS: All Yardies welcome!
FEB 3: Long overdue, Oceane calls together a gang meeting to announce Dizzybird's recent promotion to Healer Lieutenant. She announces to all who don't know that Prim is very sick, but ensures that all the Healers are doing the best they can for Prim and they expect a recovery. However, the Crabs have heard this song and dance before. Some of them begin to worry! It seems just about anyone can get sick overnight now...
- PARTICIPANTS: All Crabs welcome!
FEB 7: One afternoon, a group of teenagers see a really sickly dog coughing and dragging its feet in Cliffside Ridge. Animal Control is called, and this dog is picked up and brought to the Vet. The humans soon learn that this dog has a really nasty case of Pneumonia, bringing the dog real close to death's doorstep!
FEB 10: A Healer, on their way to bring Boss Prim her breakfast and daily dose of herbs, discovers something horrible: Prim's dead! It looks like she might've gone peacefully in her sleep, but this is a dramatic turn of events! The Healer calls in the Vice and the Healer Lieutenant.
Having been already acting Boss, it's not much of a procedurally change for Oceane, but it's surely a shock! The young dog begins her official reign in such bad circumstances! With a few volunteers, Oceane and Dizzybird gather up the tarp and drag Prim's body to the end of the beach, where her Still Blood Ceremony would be held later that day.
FEB 10: When the sun is high in the sky, the Crabs are called to the end of Jones Beach, the area closest to the Gnarled Tree and beneath Bays Thicket, to send Prim off on her final journey. Some of the Crabs wonder how many more Still Bloody Ceremonies they'll see before the sickness passes over them...
- PARTICIPANTS: All Crabs welcome!
FEB 16: Still sick with misery, Oceane takes a group of sick dogs out patrolling in hopes to lift spirits and bring everyone out of their funk. However, not long into their mission, they're surrounded by Animal Control officers. Despite fighting hard to escape, two more Crabs, including Oceane, are picked up off of the the streets and brought to the Vet's for testing and treatment!
The remaining three dogs try to run home, to warn their gangmates of what just happened, but they don't make it. Their paths are blocked and despite their best efforts, they are captured and taken in as well.
Signing up for this thread means that you understand that you cannot start or participate in any threads dated after Feb 16th through to the rest of the month, unless played in the Genesis board set for inside the vet's office! Dogs signing up for this thread must be sick! Signing up for this means that your characters will be cured once they return to the beach during the next month, however!
Later on that day, a city directive is passed and officials begin to comb the beach and pick up any more sick dogs they can find.
FEB 18: Has anyone seen Oceane lately? The Crabs begin to realize that their sick dogs have disappeared! As the remaining High Ranks begin to worry that the sickness has taken another fatal turn for the worst, Hedon comes forth and informs them that he had seen humans on the beach a few days earlier, though they did not see them take any dogs. A bit of sniffing around confirms this - dog tracks end, human tracks continue until they don't.
Dizzybird suggests a two Crabs go into the city to sniff around and see if they can find any clues to where their friends have disappeared off to.
FEB 19: News of the Crabs' sickness spreads through the human world like wildfire, and soon humans from all over Komorrah start viewing the strays in a different light. Unbeknownst to the dogs, the Komorrah City Council has turned the spotlight on them and has ordered all pound officials to search the city streets and pick up each and every stray they can find and catch. The city plans a catch, test, and adopt method, where they catch the dogs, test them for the widespread illness, and upon a good bill of health and a passing behavioral review, decide whether they are fit to be adopted out; it isn't clear what they'll do with the dogs that aren't fit to be adopted out, though.
When the officials are finished for the day, they have a good amount of dogs from each gang. From this point on, the catchers are out in full-foce in the city every day for the rest of the month!
- CAPTURED: Ramesses , Canula , Banna , Zodiac , Flealick , Chain , Sekhmet , Cricket , @nomad , Haru, Eureka, Kayne, Jaye, Carlise, Delta
This is not a thread, but an important point in the plot! If you were planning on dropping a character (temporarily or permanently), perhaps this may be a muse-booster for you! Dogs volunteered for this event don't have a set "release" day, but can be assumed to have escaped the pound (or their new adoptive families) by the time they are played again. Permanently dropped characters will have been assumed to be "unfindable" or destroyed.
FEB 20: Unsure what to do about their missing comrades, the Crab High Ranks decide to wait it out a few days. If their sick are being treated, then perhaps that's not such a bad thing. They'll be released when they're all better, right?
FEB 26: Quite a few days pass and the beach dogs aren't returned. Crabs begin to worry now that their comrades will never return! Dizzybird asks one Crab to speak with Timmy to see if there is any new news. Don't forget to bring an offering to the vet cat!
FEB 27: Dizzybird brings together a High Rank meeting to gauge what they should do going forward. Someone suggests that they ask the Saints for help, since they were all willing to help the Crabs last time. Some detest this idea, but since the circumstances are desperate and the future is uncertain, they reconsider.
A messenger is sent to Blood Village to arrange a meeting with Karma the next day.
FEB 28: Two "voted" Crab High Ranks meet with the Saints Boss for a second time. Without Oceane or Prim present, the situation is a little awkward for them. They proceed by asking the stoic leader for her help, hoping that she could find the kindness she offered them before.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have threads based off the events happening this chapter?
Absolutely! These are what we call "spin-off threads"! In fact, with so many big events going on in this chapter, we recommend that you do! We'd still love for players to engage in the plot events even if they didn't sign any of their characters up for any of the plot threads!
