Chapter 4: Rooting For Hope
This is our fourth chapter installment of the sitewide plot! To move on, we need the available threads to be signed up for and completed by our members!
This time, we're trying something new in hopes to include all the gangs and all our members without leaving anyone out in the cold! As always, cats, loners, and creatures are largely not included in our plots, but can participate in open prompts sprinkled throughout! Don't forget to plot with your peers if your characters are in one of those groups and you're interested in involving yourself!
Each gang has it's own thread sign-ups page -- go to your character's corresponding gang page to sign up for a plot thread! If it's a shared plot thread between two gangs, you might be directed to a different page for sign-ups to ensure there's no conflict or overlapping sign-ups! For any questions, please direct them to the #help channel on our Discord or reach out to staff!
Gang Leaders are encouraged to ensure and keep plot threads are moving, keep them from being hitched on one player, and participate regularly with their characters as well!
A Few Important Reminders...
- Sitewide Plot threads should be prioritized! The quicker these move along, the quicker we can move the plot along!
- Please don't sign up for a thread if you don't think you can post regularly to it.
- You are allowed to sign up for multiple threads with multiple characters, but please ensure the events in this timeline don't clash with your characters' timelines!
- All replies in the second posting round will be subject to our limited posting window. Each person will have 5 days to reply before they can be skipped!
- If you're a thread leader, it's your responsibility to start the thread and keep it going! Don't let it get stuck on one person for two weeks; remember the limited posting window! Don't be afraid to tag people in the #tag-ur-it channel to remind them to post!
- Threads that are the direct result of another will go in chronological order with the next thread only being created after the other is nearly completed.
- Please make sure to mark plot threads with the new "P!" tag so we all know it's a sitewide plot thread!
To sign up for a thread, please check that it has a "Participants" section listed beneath it. If it does, it's a thread you can sign up for! Please fill out the form below for each thread you'd like to sign up for.

MAR 04: Uncomfortable about the handful of missing dogs, Chase goes out patrolling his territory as he has been since they disappeared. Expecting to find at least some clue about his missing gangmates, he is unexpectedly cornered by the Yardies’ Boss, Daire. It’s a tense exchange... what could she possibly want?
MAR 05: While out in the city, a Dodger is ambushed! Two dogs come seemingly out of nowhere and rough them up pretty bad. They’re kept alive and sent packing with a message from Daire: 'Congrats on ya promotion, Chase.'

MAR 06: As if their missing dogs weren’t enough to stress about, new threats are on the horizon. After careful planning, a skilled group of Dodgers are sent into Yardie Territory to investigate the Bad Place. Maybe their missing gangmates are there? There is a startling number of staff around the place, and they are unsuccessful in infiltrating the place.
MAR 08 - 17: Yardies have been trespassing and attacking Dodgers. Everyone is on edge, unsure when the next attack will go down. They’ve been so random, it’s hard to track a pattern. Everyone is on edge. Dogs start to do chores in groups, raid in groups, scavenge in groups, patrol in groups, and those who don’t have to be on the streets stay hidden away in the safety of their dens or underground.
OPEN PROMPT: Have a thread where your character is a victim of a Yardie attack! How do they deal with the violence? How do they get away? Are they alone or with another gangmate? Plot with other players and get something going!
MAR 12: The sudden onslaught of attacks has put all Dodgers on edge so bad that they’ve become a bit paranoid, which is appalling to be on their own territory! Chase calls the High Ranks together to discuss a plan of action - how do they stop these attacks without going into all-out war with these savage dogs? How do they get them to just leave them alone?
MAR 17: A bleeding Loner shows up on the Dodgers’ doorstep claiming they were attacked savagely by a Yardie on their way in. They’re limping, bleeding, and can barely walk. They look woozy, and... you have to make a quick decision to potentially save this dog’s life! Let them stay or send them away? They don’t look suspicious, and you feel kind of bad that they’ve felt the conflict on their way in...

MAR 20: The Yardies attacks have surprisingly subsided - for now. As dogs begin to brave the streets again, they come to find generous offerings left all over. Kibble, wet dog food, meat, and other goodies left in bowls in yards and on stoops - ripe for the taking! Perhaps the humans have noticed the trouble the city dogs were having and left them some presents - how thoughtful!
MAR 23: Tummy troubles have broken out over a large group of dogs within the Dodgers. No one is quite sure what’s going on, but they’re glad that this doesn’t seem to be the Crabs epidemic coming for them! Plenty of Calendula, Ginger, and Goldenseal is passed out to those who are hurting, and nothing weird is suspected...
MAR 25: Things have been quiet lately and the Dodgers were naive enough to believe the Yardies have finally left them alone. Not. Two Yardies are caught red-pawed by a few Dodgers when trying to steal from their storehouse!
- PARTICIPANTS: unlimited (no sign-up required; just hop in!)
MAR 25: Chase is furious and uncomfortable about their attacks and attempts to rob and bully them. He calls a gang meeting and tells his gangmates that they may use whatever force necessary to keep these dogs off of their territory!
This thread will be open to any Dodger that wants to hop in! No sign-up required.
MAR 27: Dogs begin to get sicker and weaker as the month progresses. Still taking food left out on the streets, they hadn’t yet realized that the offered food might’ve been the problem. Two Apprentices consult with one another, discussing the symptoms and possible causes for such a large outbreak. What they come up with is compelling - and important! They should tell Nikolai or Chase right away!
- Since there are no active dogs with the Health job in the Dodgers, this will be assumed!
MAR 29: The word is spread through the gang quickly without the need for another gathering. Any dog in passing would tell another about the discovery: don’t trust the humans’ food!
MAR 30: A smart Dodger always knows how to use their disadvantages as advantages. The Yardies want to trespass and steal? OK. Carefully, this Dodger and an accomplice carefully collects a bunch of poisoned food from around the city and gathers it in a few concealed, but not too concealed, locations. Once the traps are set, all they’d need to do is wait and listen for word on the wind that the Yardies are sick to their stomachs!
- PARTICIPANTS: --, --, Diablo (2x Dodgers; one Diablo for the end!)
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I have threads based off the events happening this chapter?
A: Absolutely! These are what we call "spin-off threads"! In fact, with so many big events going on in this chapter, we recommend that you do! We'd still love for players to engage in the plot events even if they didn't sign any of their characters up for any of the plot threads!
Q: Can I sign up for multiple plot threads?
A: As long as you can post regularly to them, yes! And don't worry about being a thread hog! We usually are short on sign-ups, rather than threads!
Q: My thread partner hasn't posted in the 5-day window. Can I skip them? Will they be annoyed with me?
A: Yes, you can skip them! We encourage you to skip them to keep the thread going. Don't worry about them being annoyed with you - they shouldn't be! They signed up for the thread knowing the posting window and what happens when they can't make a post within that time frame.
We're so glad that everyone here is so polite! If you're very concerned with angering someone, you can always shoot them a PM or a DM, some reminder that they're nearing the end of the posting window and ask whether they're able or planning to post. Chances are, you'll get the greenlight to skip them or you'll get a confirmation that they'll send in a post within the next day or so.
However, if someone has mentioned that they will post, but hasn't and it's been a week or more, you've got the greenlight from us to post to keep your thread going. Your thread partner can pick up where they left off in the next posting round!
