Chapter 4: Rooting For Hope
This is our fourth chapter installment of the sitewide plot! To move on, we need the available threads to be signed up for and completed by our members!
This time, we're trying something new in hopes to include all the gangs and all our members without leaving anyone out in the cold! As always, cats, loners, and creatures are largely not included in our plots, but can participate in open prompts sprinkled throughout! Don't forget to plot with your peers if your characters are in one of those groups and you're interested in involving yourself!
Each gang has it's own thread sign-ups page -- go to your character's corresponding gang page to sign up for a plot thread! If it's a shared plot thread between two gangs, you might be directed to a different page for sign-ups to ensure there's no conflict or overlapping sign-ups! For any questions, please direct them to the #help channel on our Discord or reach out to staff!
Gang Leaders are encouraged to ensure and keep plot threads are moving, keep them from being hitched on one player, and participate regularly with their characters as well!
A Few Important Reminders...
- Sitewide Plot threads should be prioritized! The quicker these move along, the quicker we can move the plot along!
- Please don't sign up for a thread if you don't think you can post regularly to it.
- You are allowed to sign up for multiple threads with multiple characters, but please ensure the events in this timeline don't clash with your characters' timelines!
- All replies in the second posting round will be subject to our limited posting window. Each person will have 5 days to reply before they can be skipped!
- If you're a thread leader, it's your responsibility to start the thread and keep it going! Don't let it get stuck on one person for two weeks; remember the limited posting window! Don't be afraid to tag people in the #tag-ur-it channel to remind them to post!
- Threads that are the direct result of another will go in chronological order with the next thread only being created after the other is nearly completed.
- Please make sure to mark plot threads with the new "P!" tag so we all know it's a sitewide plot thread!
To sign up for a thread, please check that it has a "Participants" section listed beneath it. If it does, it's a thread you can sign up for! Please fill out the form below for each thread you'd like to sign up for.
Thread Date:
Short Description of Thread: (applicable only if there's multiple threads on the same date, let us know which thread you're signing up for!)

Roles Being Fulfilled: (if applicable, fill in the role your character will be fulfilling)

Please wait until a Staff Member gives you the OK to start a plot thread!
After two High Ranks meet with the Saints Boss, a plan is formed to take back their sick dogs from the humans. The two gangs go home to prepare for the raid, meeting up again in a few days' time.
MAR 01: After meeting with the vet cat, Timmy, Dizzybird learns where their sick dogs are being sent off to. The only problem is that he was only given a name: Teirno. With a bit of further bribery of catnip and fresh fish, the Crabs were able to secure an in: Timmy told of a way for a dog to hide in the van that they take the sick dogs into. A trusted and stealthy Crab would sneak onto this van, go to the lab, and sneak off of it before anyone notices. They will escape the facility and mark the place, so that they can find it later!
- PARTICIPANTS: Harlequin (1x Crab + Prompt Pup)
MAR 04: With a plan formed, a rendezvous point, and two small teams of gang dogs converged, the humans don’t stand a chance against the strays. The meeting place is set for the nighttime, and the two gangs meet up a block away to go over the plan. Once that’s done with, there’s only one thing left to do: storm the place!
Previously sick, captured dogs are invited to hop in towards the middle of the thread when the strays crack open the lab!
MAR 05: With their sick freed and cured, there’s only one thing left to worry about: Oceane. She was not at the Vet’s office and she was not rescued. Has the Crabs’ Curse struck again and claimed another Boss? Many Crabs have mixed feelings about their victory and failure. Is it even worth celebrating when their young Boss is still missing?
Over the next few weeks, the Crabs continue to search for the Boss and exhaust their resources:
One dog attempts to bribe the Vet Cat, Timmy, with two fresh Bass, stolen from the docks, for more information, thinking he’s holding back.
Two dogs sneak off into Yardies’ territory one night to speak with pound dogs, to find out if Oceane had been seen in the pound.
A few dogs, at different times, head into the city to corner dogs and beg them for any information they might know.
OPEN PROMPT: Head into the city or the slums and corner dogs and beg them for any information they might know! Bribery works well when working with unwilling participants -- so bring some items you're willing to trade, maybe! Do you have a friend in another gang you can talk to? Perhaps you can make a friend while asking for information. A little good will will get you a long way!
The dogs looking for her receive conflicting information, but come up with no leads. It seems... the curse has struck again!
MAR 11: As the discontent and sadness begins to set in, some Crabs begin to take on a wildly shape. Dogs begin doing whatever they please, refusing to do their jobs, refusing to fall in line. Something needs to be done; the Crabs’ home is falling into ruin because of these rebels!
OPEN PROMPT: Have a thread where your character refuses to do their duties or directly disobeys a high-ranking gang member.
MAR 15: Dizzybird calls the High Ranks together and proposes a plan: a contest, of sorts, to see who would be the most fit to become the gang’s next Boss. Each High Rank would be responsible for gaining favor from their gangmates in various ways -- the creativity would be up to them! In the end, there’d be a vote and the gang’s most favorable choice, wins. With no Vice, this seems like the best and fairest alternative.
MAR 15: Once this contest is agreed upon, the High Ranks call a meeting to speak with the public about their plan to choose a new Boss, and eventually, Vice. Oceane will be welcomed back if she returns, but they cannot wait around for her to show up; the succession must happen. All members are expected to allow each High Rank to impress them and carefully consider which they think is the best to lead the pack.
At this point, all participating High Ranks are encouraged to create threads (open or private) to start getting dogs on their side!
MAR 31: By the full moon (or Apr 1st), all Crabs are encouraged to go into the ‘Voting Cave’ and drop a small rock into the basket of the dog they believe should be the next Boss. Each basket will be marked by some representation of that dog (feathers for Thorn, for example). The baskets will be seperated and placed around the cave so that getting them mixed up won’t be a problem.
The vote is considered to be a private matter; only one dog is permitted into the cave at a time. There will be a Security Dog present, guarding the entrance, at all times; they will work in shifts.
All Crabs are expected to post once in this thread with their vote!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I have threads based off the events happening this chapter?
A: Absolutely! These are what we call "spin-off threads"! In fact, with so many big events going on in this chapter, we recommend that you do! We'd still love for players to engage in the plot events even if they didn't sign any of their characters up for any of the plot threads!
Q: Can I sign up for multiple plot threads?
A: As long as you can post regularly to them, yes! And don't worry about being a thread hog! We usually are short on sign-ups, rather than threads!
Q: My thread partner hasn't posted in the 5-day window. Can I skip them? Will they be annoyed with me?
A: Yes, you can skip them! We encourage you to skip them to keep the thread going. Don't worry about them being annoyed with you - they shouldn't be! They signed up for the thread knowing the posting window and what happens when they can't make a post within that time frame.
We're so glad that everyone here is so polite! If you're very concerned with angering someone, you can always shoot them a PM or a DM, some reminder that they're nearing the end of the posting window and ask whether they're able or planning to post. Chances are, you'll get the greenlight to skip them or you'll get a confirmation that they'll send in a post within the next day or so.
However, if someone has mentioned that they will post, but hasn't and it's been a week or more, you've got the greenlight from us to post to keep your thread going. Your thread partner can pick up where they left off in the next posting round!
