about us This is Komorrah, a city full of corruption, poverty, and crime. While there's good and bad in every city, this one has dogs. A lot of stray dogs.
Set in a modern-day, fictionalized version of New York City, Komorrah has much to offer our gang dogs. Strays on the street feed from human negligence and thrive on the loopholes they can fit their snouts in. It's every dog for themselves
out there, though living with and having the support of a gang is helpful.
Tensions rise, enemies are made, but perhaps alliances are arranged. Only the strong survive this harsh hand the strays have been dealt. What will be your choice in Infidelis?
featured adoptable DUCHESS • APP With a name like this, its no wonder that Duchess is the living emobident of 'regal'. Incredibly smart with a certain charm that others can't resist, don't let her honey-sweet smile and patience fool you. This ambitious, manipulative girl has her eyes set on greatness.
On the very edge of Komorrah lies the Coast, mainly consisting of a long stretch of Jones Beach, there's Tortuga Cove nestled in an inlet behind a sheer rockface. The only way to access it is to either climb down from the rocks above or swim around the rocky wall that shields it from prying eyes. However, the swim is no easy feat. Waves with strong riptides lap at the shores of Jones Beach, dragging any unsuspecting victim under and keeping them there as prey.
Far to the south-east is a small seaside town called Cliffside Ridge. The Crabs call the Coast their home, getting much of their food supply from Cliffside Ridge, but calling Tortuga Cove their real home.

It's 3 PM at Gambler's Greenhouse, and you've found a trove of poisonous plants! How are you gonna take a sample?
This place was utterly dull, not to mention irritating. Arcania wished, of all the places they could have gone, that they wouldn't have come here. Granted, the Dodgers probably would have been equally as irritating to her. They were nothing but a bunch of children, in her mind. Weak, easily pushed around and manipulated... they would have been so dull after the first couple of days. Not that the beach was much better.
Time had been spent wandering, taking stock of where they had come from and the area Karma had told them to investigate. Why she wanted information about the Yardies, Arcania hadn't known, but it wasn't her place to question the queen. Today, she relegated her wandering to the beach and its nearby areas.
In the thicket, she found an abandoned building, and abandoned buildings were always to be explored for any potential goodies. She liked finding little hiding spots. What she found instead was a lot of nothing, and a lot more greenery that she didn't know what to do with.
"Well, how interesting," she mused, taking a better look at it and noticing that it was the sort one didn't get too close to unless one was willing to risk getting sick, or worse. Was there a way to harvest it without putting herself at risk? She could think of many uses for such plants if so.

Mesqo was out for a wander, she was really starting to go a bit nutty from all this. She grumbled, not saying anything but that was enough indeed. It had been hard enough to adjust already and this... them made it even more hard.
She'd decided to go and take a wander because sleep had failed her, no matter what she tried. So considering the time it was probably best to just give up now and take a stroll. Of course, they always ended with her talking to someone or running into someone she'd rather not. Just always seemed to happen. Mesqo was always nice and polite, distant yeah but you could still be both.
Yawning she stretched out, cracking her shoulders as she felt stiff and somewhat sore. She was probably running in her sleep again, that always made her ache a little. Soon enough she spotted a figure wonder off into the abandoned looking shack. She mmmed and questioned about following, she scented the smell of a saint from here and wondered just what they were up to.
"Probably would be wise to leave be" Mesqo made herself known as she came into the saint's line of sight after walking up behind her. She moved over to the left and found a spot to sit down. "Unless you're after some problems.. Then go a head" She half smirked, chuckled and finished it off with a smile. She wasn't being mean or sarcastic, just trying to break the ice.
"Been told there are special ways to remove these harmful plants .. But that's not in my ball park sadly" She hadn't wandered in to help, she hadn't even known why Arcania was here. She did wonder why she was after these plants though, was it chance perhaps or on purpose. Probably not, if it was on purpose she'd have someone to aid in their removal. She was relaxed but still on guard, she didn't really like any of this situation. Something felt wrong about the entire thing.
Try as she might, she was never alone for long. Back in the village, she had a number if hidey holes she could go to if she truly wanted to be by herself. Here, she had none of those. And, there were two gangs living in about the same area as the Saints had once held. Small wonder she kept running into other dogs. Would it have been easier if said other dogs were also Saints? Not necessarily. But, it did help keep down the number of weird looks she got. Like the one this Eye was now giving her.
It wasn't a surprise to her when the stranger spoke. She'd heard another dog coming up behind her. Arcania couldn't have gotten where she was now without a good brain in her head and good senses. When one made a living creeping around, it paid off to be able to know when someone else was coming.
"Mmm, perhaps," Arcania mused, continuing to study the plants for a long moment before finally turning to face the other dog. "A pity, that," she said of her newfound companion's inability to help her with what she had found. Without knowing exactly what part of the plants were toxic, and how they worked, she couldn't safely gather them for her own study. She wasn't the sort to go risking her own life for an experiment. Let someone else do the dirty work.
"Seems... unwise, to move so close to such things," she commented offhandedly. If the other woman couldn't help her then she wasn't of much interest to her, but Arcania could handle a bit of idle conversation. One never knew where such a thing would lead.
"What are you doing out here then if you can't do anything as.. Useful?" Mesqo asked, her eyebrow raised questioning what the other dog was up to. She knew she probably wasn't up to anything, she was just wondering why come out here only to be utterly useless. Mesqo wasn't even trying to be rude, to her it was just cold hard fact.
"What can you do hey?" Perhaps Mesqo could point a paw in a direction of something more suited to Arcania's talents. She didn't know them of course, but she did know it wasn't with these toxic plants. Mesqo didn't know jack about plants only that some were useful, she had a few ideas of some that were good pain killers but otherwise not much. Combat and yeah that was more up her alley.
"Name's Mesqo" She said trying to bridge some gaps. She wasn't entirely sure what to do with this situation but maybe she could learn something about the Saints.. well learn things other than all the stories she'd been told. Which didn't sound good, but she was half curious as well, maybe this Saint would tell her a few. She was going a bit out of her mind herself, she wasn't used to her new life and often longed for her old one.
"Heard things about the Saints.. Feel up to chatting? If not fair enough, happy to leave you in peace if that's what you'd rather" Mesqo calmly said with a slight smile. She wasn't entirely your standard Cra.. urr Eye. It did make her wonder all the time if she was ever going to fit in.
words xxx tagsArcania notes Yeah!! Mesqo's rather interested in learning lol
It was a fair question, the Vulture supposed. "Oh, seeing what trouble I can get into," she said idly, taking a few steps away from the plants and sitting down neatly. If she'd had a tail, it would have been curled around her frame. As it was, she didn't have one to help give away her emotions.
"Indeed. It could prove useful to know, but the risk of harming oneself in the process is perhaps too high," she mused. If all one managed to do was poison oneself, then what was the point? Perhaps that was why no one had removed these plants, and why so few bothered to learn about them.
"Arcania," she replied simply. She wasn't adverse to sharing her name, and she stored this one's in the back of her mind, should it prove useful in the future. A low chuckle escaped her at Mesqo's admission of hearing stories. "Oh, I'm sure you have," she replied. "There's no shortage of tales about us. Ask away, then." Maybe if she asked something interesting, she'd answer. This would also be a good opportunity to get information about the Eyes, which could always prove useful even though they were already living in such close quarters. That wouldn't last forever, and she knew there had been quite some upheaval in the gang recently. Not everyone enjoyed such a thing...
Mesqo listened closely, she wasn't a fan of the whole causing trouble line but for now things felt tame at least. So she stayed relaxed and watched Arcania. "I see now" She mused to herself a little.
"It would be very interesting indeed, could also help learn to treat one from the effects of the poison itself perhaps?" It was an interesting question to dwell on for a moment "Maybe there is medical that would be interested in hearing out the thought of looking into this further. Joined effort perhaps?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. Not them but ones who knew what they were doing, they could however suggest the idea to one of the higher ups.. Maybe. She wasn't entirely sure just let, she was curious however to what Arcania had thought of her idea about that.
"Charmed" Mesqo said with a very small smile. Yes she really had and she was curious about well a lot really, it was a curious thought. "No there isn't is there, Bad stories aside .. what do the Saints stand for? like mmm I was once a military dog standing for honour, strength and loyalty. What about the saints?" She asked curiously, this wasn't a question to gather information or anything. Mesqo herself was interested in this answer.
"Do you like being a part of the Saints? Are some of the more darker stories true? I always heard blood and other things being mentioned during these tales" Although she wasn't entirely sure of what was true or not. Mesqo hadn't been with them long perhaps 4-5 months was around the right time. After her very stressful time before joining, she did not really see much. Mesqo was busy recovering, she had ran her paws into the ground. They were bloody and aching, her muscles were all cramped and her mind was in a shattered mess. It was still harsh on her but physically she was well recovered.
Well, it wasn't exactly the reason why she wanted to study them, but she would go with that given she was in mixed company. It would do her and the Saints no good if this woman went running back to Dizzybird shrieking that one of the Saints was looking into poisons. "Precisely," she said instead. "If someone were to unknowingly come into contact with these, it could be disastrous." Entertaining, was what she really thought. If someone was that stupid to go blundering around in plants they didn't know, then that was on them.
"Ah, my father was a police dog himself," Arcania commented. Her mother, one who rescued people from buildings and the like, which wasn't relevant to the current conversation. It was all in her heritage, though, and boy had they been disappointed when she had eschewed their honorable careers.
"Strength and loyalty, yes," she confirmed. "Karma is our Boss, our queen, our everything. We owe her our lives for getting us out of the ring, and we will repay her hundreds of times over. What she orders, we do without question." She spoke with pride, and the faintest hint of reverence. She held the white dog in high esteem, which was rare for her.
"But honor? Perhaps not. We do what we must to survive. When we fight, it is typically to the death. It is what we have been taught, and it is all that we know. The humans have made us this way." They simply chose to never change.
"I suppose it depends on what those stories are, but it is true we have no fear of blood," she concluded. How could they, with what they had been through? Those who came to join them after they had escaped the ring, those with no background in fighting, had to be much the same way. "But what of you? As a dog with such a practical background, do you have a difficult time being told to believe in something you cannot even see?" she asked. Arcania had heard about the change in name, and it was easy enough to pick up on whispers of discontent. She tended to blend in with the shadows, and others would walk past her, carrying on their conversations, never realizing she was there.
Guess not, Mesqo might find a time later to mention the idea to someone by herself. She watched her closely, find ticking over quickly as she was really curious. "Extremely so" She nodded agreeing with Arcania.
"Oh really hey? Impressive" She had smiled. It was always interesting to hear others backstories, even if it was just little bits and pieces. Mesqo hadn't planned to go any further into hers unless something like that came up again, she didn't mind a good chat, but she wasn't a fool, Arcania wasn't half bad that was true. Still, she was a Saint and Mesqo planned to tread lightly.
Mesqo listened as she talked about Karma, they were very loyal she could tell that already and spoke with great honour and pride about their boss. That's when she heard the ring? Flash backs off her short time in a fighting ring. She wondered if it was that kind of ring, of course it would be. She glanced down for a moment and then back towards Arcania "A...a ... fighting ring you mean?" She shivered a little, she shook her head and refocused once again.
"Sounds like humans wronged you rather badly, I was set out to work but it was different although they got rid of me pretty quickly when I had.. Problems" She sighed, she half felt wronged as well. She loved her old partner, she missed her a lot. The best human around but after the event, the ring and the police finding her. It was insane, she wanted to work or sort of, but they didn't want her working. "Life can be a cruel bitch sometimes" Mesqo said with a small nod.
Then she asked the question, one that was always playing on repeat in her mind. These changes. "Yeah it all doesn't sit that well with me how it stands right now, it just feels .. Wrong. I'm a working dog, born to be in the thick of it but this .. New age hippie spiritual crap" Yeah if it wasn't easy enough to tell already, Mesqo was tense and on edge about all these new changes. "When I was first here things felt different.. well I think I was pretty out of it ....it just feels wrong and you can probably easily tell not everyone is all hooray yay about it" She grumbled and wondered about her future. It was tricky to try and even fathom herself taking such a road. After everything, she had been through, Mesqo wanted to heal and be in the thick of things ... like normal really.
"What do you think about this? this .. strange turn of events. Would be nice to have an outside view" She asked with a curious tone.
Arcania nodded in confirmation of her words. For once she was telling the unvarnished truth, take it or leave it. She didn't care what others knew of her past, since she felt so disconnected with it. Her time in training was so long ago, it might as well have happened to another dog. Her life had changed dramatically since then, and for the better. Sure, one could argue being in the ring hadn't been for the better, but it had helped make her who she was. Plus, if she hadn't been there, she would never have met Karma, and therefore she would never have wound up in the place she now occupied.
"Yes," she replied simply, noticing the reaction her words had elicited from the other dog. It seemed she was familiar with the concept, though when she continued to speak she didn't elaborate on her reaction. It was yet another thing Arcania filed away for potential use later. "They were displeased with my training as well," Arcania commented. It was tempting to pry further into this dog's past, but it wouldn't serve her any purpose, and she couldn't think of a way to dig in without being obvious about it. "In the end, I wound up serving Karma. Life is cruel but it brings us where we need to be at times."
She couldn't help but chuckle at the description of what the gang had become. Ah yes, it was quite accurate. "I think a wise leader can gauge what his followers will accept so as not to cause discord within the ranks... or else he does not remain a leader for long," she mused. "Loyalty can only be pushed so far. As for the changes themselves... well I fail to see how anyone can be expected to believe in something they cannot see. Faith in something that might not even exist seems like a waste of time. I prefer to believe in more concrete things. Perhaps that is merely due to my upbringing, but it seems as though very few are happy with these changes."
Mesqo listened for a moment, she was learning a bit from Arcania but not in that way no. It was more making her question certain aspect's of her life right now and where it was heading. Ever curious. Not the reaction she'd expected for this conversation, although it had been a real eye opener.
"Oh sorry to hear, I went through all my training and such. Got a human partner and everything as well, was part of the thick of things for a good while I guess..." She trailed off slightly, sighing and missing her old life "An.. Event brought me here really, one that spun out of control. My unit was attacked on a rather routine mission... not sure who made it out but not a lot did and that is how I know about fighting rings.. Men who did that also took the remaining dogs and well you know the stories I guess" She had been lucky in a way, the police had turned up not long after.
Mesqo had many thoughts and questions going through her head again, she stared at the ground. Also, not entirely feeling the best about recalling the past but it was rather freeing talking to someone who had a not so perfect life either. "I guess...." Mesqo said in reply to her comment of it lead them to where they were meant to be. "May I ask what made you feel that you were in the right place with Karma?" She asked hoping it might help her answer a few questions that were bothering her.
"Yes I agree, things with ... I mean such things should really be up to the individual not forced on the group as a whole. Its been divided but minus talk amongst ourselves I don't think anyone has spoken up about it" Yet..someone surely would question.. Right? Oh, probably not. Mesqo shook her head "Probably won't though" Sighing she refocused on Arcania. "Yeah I'm the same like that, it's for sure the way I raised and it is hard to take these changes rolling over, haven't been here long so the extra changes weren't taken easily" It hadn't been easy for change again so quickly. It was rather frustrating.
The Doberman shrugged slightly, feigning at being mildly upset about the turn of events, when in reality it was the exact opposite. She had chosen not to complete her training, to escape instead. She hadn't wanted to be either a police or rescue dog, and so she had ensured she wouldn't be. But, it was clear that this dog cared about such things, and since Arcania knew she could only get information if the other thought they had some kind of connection.
"I've heard stories of these things happening," Arcania said sympathetically as the other woman spoke of having to leave her job. Again, she didn't really care, but she could fake a good game. "It happens to the best of us."
She did know the rest of the story. It was fairly typical of how many of them had wound up in the fighting ring. Tragic, she supposed, but it also made them strong in a way. It gave them an outlook on life that others didn't have. It also made them know just what they were willing to do in order to stay alive: a lot.
How was she in the right place with Karma? Well, wasn't that an excellent question.
"She saw my potential in a way that others didn't, and she valued it and my abilities. She knows what I can do, and she put me in a place to be able to do it. Besides, she has a strength of body, mind, and presence that few others I have known also possess. She commands my respect, and that alone makes her worthy to be around," Arcania explained. So few could claim the same. Perhaps it was merely their boss who could.
"So far, anyway," Arcania commented idly. It would happen sooner or later. She just wondered if she could help bring it to fruition more quickly. "But why not? If enough of you are so unhappy, should you not tell your leader?" she asked, tilting her head to the side, aiming for genuine curiosity. She was rather curious why the woman thought nothing would come of the gang's displeasure. Surely they weren't afraid of their leader, so it couldn't be that they didn't dare speak against him. Maybe it was just that they were afraid of causing discord, which disappointed her equally as much.
That was very true, still Mesqo felt like in some way she had failed even if she never admitted it. It was a bit of a debate about that sometimes, if she failed, or they failed her. She could never close off the issue and it was rather annoying. "That is true, I do miss work though or at least working .. " Mesqo wasn't really built for this life style.
Mesqo listened to every word with an open mind, and she was very curious. The whole conversation had mind in knots, twisting and turning. However, that did not stop her from wanting to know even more. Whatever information this Saint had, she'd take in a heart beat. "Wow I'm rather impressed" She admitted despite the stories, Mesqo was the ever curious type and right now through her current situation she was looking for something strong to hold onto it and believe in. Not this.. God or whatever was going on.
"Uhhhh..." Mesqo had to really think about this next answer, when she did start to think about it. Well she was not entirely sure why no one had stood up or if anyone had perhaps in silent behind the scenes and been brought to silence. "I am not sure now that you bring it up like that.. I was told not to act unless I saw something pretty much perhaps that is why others haven't" didn't seem right though. She looked a bit annoyed and puzzled. "Maybe the peace and quiet normally seen here was disturbed enough and no one wants to kick the sand up" Mesqo glanced to her right. With more of a belief something wasn't right about the situation. "Perhaps they fear being thrown out of the gang" Which sounded like a believable situation.
"Do you think Karma would ever speak with me? Not about that of course.. That is something else for me to deal with I guess.. no just .. In general, I guess..." Mesqo wasn't entirely sure of her words, so they trailed off towards the end, but she had meant what she asked. She even looked dead serious about it as well. What Arcania had said spoke volumes to the Dutch Shepherd, and she wanted to know more.
The Doberman listened to Mesqo's words rather intently. She was truly curious about the perceived reasons for not saying anything when so many were clearly unimpressed by what was going on around them. Since she knew they didn't fear their boss like some would Karma, or perhaps even Daire, she didn't see a point in the hesitation. Just depose him and start over again, or go back to how things were. Clearly, this was a more peace-loving gang. No wonder they hadn't raised a fuss over the Saints moving in. It was to their benefit that the Eyes didn't talk back.
"That would be quite unfortunate," she commented of being removed from the gang. It might not be as humiliating as getting kicked out of another gang, but some dogs weren't built for a life alone on the streets. Arcania knew she could manage, but she chose not to. There was no reason for her to. Were anything to happen to the Saints, though, she wouldn't hesitate to live on her own instead of bending herself to fit another gang.
She thought for a moment about the question posed to her and nodded slightly. "She can be quite blunt, so I wouldn't recommend speaking with her at great length, but yes, likely she would. I'd be willing to let her know you wished to speak with her. That would make her more receptive, I believe," Arcania offered. Typically, she wouldn't have been willing to help another, but this former police dog intrigued her. Perhaps she was interested in leaving the Eyes, and coming to join them. Arcania would be pleased to have had a part in that, and not only because it would further weaken the beach dogs. No, this one had quite the strong personality, and Arcania could respect that.
Mesqo still had her thoughts on why the gang did not take a stand, this was very curious. Arcania spoke a lot of truth. "Maybe it is just fear or .. Perhaps they are just not built for such actions" Mesqo was just thinking out loud but it sounded some what right, it was hard to really judge as she hadn't been here long, and she spent the first few months staying away and heck even now she'd rather be anywhere but around here, she spent her times exploring or darting around the city.
"To some I guess" Mesqo wondered how she'd handle being on her own for a while but remembered in a way she had spent some time alone on the streets. It wasn't easy but sometimes you had to do whatever you had. All that aside it did not stop her missing work or her human, it didn't make her any less of who she was. She was a strong spirit and a fighter.
"She is huh, that is okay a lot of the dogs I worked with in the military could be like that. They, too, were rather strong commanding dogs as well, held my utmost respect .. No one wouldn't dare fuck them up" She half smirked remembering some of the higher ranks of the military she had been graced to meet. Karma sounded a bit like them in that regards, Mesqo was very good at following through with orders etc, and she was ... well loyal but sometimes if you did not belong in the picture.. You had to be cut out and replaced. "You would do that for me, I thank you very much for that" Mesqo smiled.
"It does seem a more... passive sort of group," Arcania mused in agreement. Them and the Dodgers both. She couldn't stand such passivity. Even being exposed to it now while they were living on the same beach was too much for her. Much more of this and she was going to snap, and that wouldn't be pretty. Hopefully, they would be well away from the little group soon. Otherwise, she was just going to have to spend even more time away from both gangs to keep the peace. She was used to being alone, at least.
Yes, there were some that couldn't handle being on their own and there were some that could. Arcania had no doubt any one of the Saints could stand on their own, just as she had no doubt she would be hard pressed to find the same independence in the newly dubbed Eyes.
Arcania chuckled at the description of Mesqo's superiors. "Then you know exactly what you're dealing with," she commented. She doubted Mesqo would have a problem in her conversation with Karma, presuming their pale leader felt like speaking that day. Karma wasn't known for being conversational.
"If I might say, your talents are wasted in this place," she commented. It was a bit of a risk, depending on how loyal this woman was to her gang, but Arcania felt like she could get away with it.
