Ohanzee was still reflecting on the strange encounter he'd just returned from, trying to put thoughts of the loner behind him as he saw the building coming back into his sight. As the night continued to wear on, many of the humans that had been rummaging about had dispersed and settled. Good, hopefully this time no one would show up to whisk him off - he wanted to watch. The notion of such destruction was so mesmerizing; Ohanzee wanted more. He wanted to know more. How had this happened here?
Like before, the closer her got, the less cover there was. Everything in the landscape had transformed into black dust in piles on the ground, now made invisible by the growing darkness. He could, at times, feel the squish of ashes beneath his pads; what a sensation. This is what annihilation felt like - termination. He imagined how his remains could have been among these piles had he been in the warehouse at the time. Not that he would have been, considering he was in a whole different gang entirely, and yet... If he ever found himself in a burning building, it brought him solace to know that he'd perish and be returned to the earth.
Before him now was the ruins of the warehouse, where the Saints had called home. He sat, staring at where the building had once stood. He wasn't trying to keep hidden this time, seeing as the night had cast dark shadows everywhere and he easily blended in the landscape. He tried to make his way close enough to spot any dog remains from Saints who may not have made it out. There weren't any that were obviously visible, and yet still Ohanzee wondered... Where had the Saints gone?
Ohanzee took in a deep breath. It was somewhat surreal, more so now in the dark. He was able to nestle himself into a pile of half-scorched boards that had been purposely piled by the humans cleaning up. The wolfdog hoped loners wouldn't find him here and persuade him away. He still wanted to see if any Saints would make an appearance. Or perhaps another gang dog had noticed the flames and come to investigate as intell for their own gang. Either way, Ohanzee was looking for a chance to learn more about what had occurred a few nights prior. Maybe he could speculate with another. One who wasn't so afraid, like the last one. He could pretend it was all to keep Daire off his back, but the reality was he was simply immensely drawn to the death and destruction of the scene.
tags This is open to any @dodger, @eyes, or @saints. I have a clear direction for this thread as explained in the post: to speculate and discuss the event that caused the fire and the results of such destruction.
