May was just a delightful time of year. Spring had been actively pushing out the cold and the warm summer breezes teased at every soul. The morning sun had been rising for an hour or so and the rays snuck through the leaves hitting the pelt of a lonesome copper pelt. Hazel brown eyes groggily opened and the canine lazily moved her head out of the Sun's annoying light. "Five more minutes..." The female's tired voice grumbled as she curled up into a ball, trying to enjoy her sleep a little longer.
As the minutes passed, the noise of the humans and other creatures started to wake her up a little more as each second dragged by. "I guess I should do something.." Gangly legs pushed her body onto her haunches, a yawn exposing her pearly canines. Breakfast time, Myla... A growling stomach agreed in unison with Myla's thoughts and so she got up with a peppy shake, tail high, and trotted off towards the hustle and bustle. She was still getting used to the times that things were open in this area, making note that the amusement park was still inactive, but truthfully looked like it may never be... The wind shifted, bringing the scent of the wild beasts within the zoo straight to her, hackles raising slightly a the idea of what those creatures would do if released or escaped.
In the morning there wasn't a whole lot of people out, but Myla still stayed away from the direct paths themselves. Trotting along, air to the wind, smelling humans, birds, and other small creatures, something wonderful and sweet filled her. Stopping, Myla positioned herself in a bush, lying flat on her belly to peer out at the unsuspecting soul on a bench slightly down the path. The younger looking female human was nibbling on what appeared to be a brown and white pastry of some sort and the smell.... irresistible. There were hints of vanilla and cinnamon and every bite the human took, Myla drooled more and more.
The thought of having a sweet treat in the morning sounded so delightful. Myla eyed the human and whimpered softly to herself, the human unaware of her hidden watcher. A couple more minutes went by and Myla felt something tickling at her nose, sneezing to get rid of the feeling wasn't enough, but once she actually paid attention and realized what her troubles were caused by... "Spider!" A sharp yelp and a scurry of paws and hair sent Myla backpedaling as best she could, quickly rubbing her face on her legs and paws. "That was gross..." Normally spiders don't bother her, but the surprise of having one in such close proximity to her eyes and nose was opposite of just fine. Pulling herself together, Myla peeked around the bush to find her human had decided to move along... leaving the wrapper of her sweet treat on the bench.
Stealth wasn't entirely needed at this point, eyes noticing not a single soul in the direct vicinity of her target. Myla slowly stepped out on the path, eyes locked on the brown wrapping paper that may or may not hold a single morsel, but it still smelt so good. The thought of whatever it was made her drool more with each tentative step...
