Grizzly AGWE'S EYES | OPEN JOB
![]() | |
BIRTHDAY: May 2015 | GENDER: Male |
HEIGHT: 32 inches | WEIGHT: 163 lbs |
BREED(S): Saint Bernard | FACE CLAIM: kinleythesaint |
APPEARANCE | |
There's a reason why Grizzly is named after a Grizzly Bear. This male is massive. He's a hulking giant, with huge, slobbering jowls (and tendrils of drool never too far behind), an even bigger head, and paws that splay beneath his staggering weight. The thick fur that covers this male makes him seem even bigger. Its thick and incredibly dense, being a mixture between splotches of white and brown. Truly, he looks like your average Saint Bernard. His face is rather adorable, despite his big size. Typically smiling, his eyes are a large, warm dark brown and color, and they lack the characteristic drooping that some of his breed possess. Though its healed, around his neck, the fur seems to be a bit thinner. If one wants to (he surely wouldn't mind) parting the fur reveals scars from the time he was chained into the backyard and his chain collar dug into his skin for weeks on end.
PERSONALITY | |
CLUMSY • PLAYFUL • SENSITIVE • ENERGETIC • ROUGH
Even though the dog has only 'recently matured', it...still doesn't seem like Grizzly's going to be mentally maturing anytime soon. A pup at heart, the dog wants to do nothing but love on others and play all day. Unknowing of his size, he clobbers others for 'hugs' and nearly bites their heads off attempting to give them 'kisses'. He just has...so much love to give, but, truly doesn't recognize his own strength. Easily excitable, Grizzly has energy for days. His heft doesn't seem to bother his stamina much at all. He could run laps up and down the beach, and still be down for a session of play. Much to the annoyance of others, Grizzly is very...energetic. Perhaps a bit hyper at times, as he talks a mile a minute or wants, and tries, to do several things at once, usually causing utter chaos. He's a very clumsy dog, and this usually goes hand in hand with him not knowing his own strength, causing him to be a bit destructive. From accidentally hurting others to destroying food by holding it too tight in his jaws or breaking more fragile things, he's a bull in a china shop - except the china shop happens to be everything he comes along. Despite his size though, Grizzly is very, very sensitive. He doesn't take negative/sad things well - he doesn't like getting in trouble or yelled at. He doesn't like disappointing others. He doesn't like hurting others (even if he doesn't realize that they're hurt because of him). He does, and will cry, and his feelings get hurt very easily. Still, he's very forgiving, and will usually just smile and laugh and go 'its okay!!' if someone apologizes, regardless of what they've done. Truthfully, Grizzly really is a sweethearted dog, even if incredibly overbearing. Surprisingly, there are rare surges of protectiveness that can be randomly triggered, even when they don't need to be....especially when they don't need to be. And his form of 'protection' is usually just...sorta sitting on someone. Still, when it does call for it, he will defend those he loves with all of his heart.
HISTORY | |
Grizzly's early life isn't anything too special - but, its still a rather unfortunate beginning. His puphood was filled with the warmth of his mother and several siblings. A young Saint Bernard mother had just given birth! An 'oops' litter between to 'unfixed' Saint Bernards, there was no way the family could support several more giant dogs. And so, they sold them off to 'good homes'. Grizzly's family was...pretty great at first! A christmas present for a little kid, sure, the steadily growing, massive dog had tons of energy, but, was very lovable. Unfortunately, grow he did, and his energy didn't seem to quell either. He never seemed to really understand his strength, and was a rough player. And thus, began his life outside, chained up to a tree. At first, it was fine. But, slowly but surely, the family just seemed to...forget about him. Raising a child was hard enough, and Grizzly, being the attention seeker he is, required far too much effort that the tired, new parents just couldn't seem to spare. Slowly, they stopped taking him off of his chain for walks or playtime. Slowly, they began to forget to feed him, or bring him inside when it began to rain or snow. Slowly, they seemed to forget Grizzly all together, except to yell at the dog to 'shut up' when his needy barking grew incessant. Stricken in tough times of money, the family had no choice but to eventually sell their home and move elsewhere to somewhere cheaper. And...it seemed they forgot about Grizzly for that too. Tied up and unable to leave, Grizzly stayed in that small yard for weeks, until he was little more than a pile of matted fur and bones. A passing by Eyes patrol noticed the young dog, and sought to help him. It took several dogs to break the rusted chains and removed his chain collar, but, finally, he was free! With no where left to go and eyes filled with an immediate love for his saviors, Grizzly joined the Eyes without a moment of hesitation, and has been with them ever since.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Grizzly is a very, very strong dog. While he typically uses it to open clams or do other, sort of idiotic tasks, the potential for it to be used for dangerous tasks is there. He...may have to be coached into it though. It seems that everyone but Grizzly seems to know that he's strong. STAMINA: Grizzly's stamina is something fierce. He can go for miles on end at a decent paced trot, or continue doing a heavy labored task without pausing to take a break. THICK FUR: Grizzly's fur is very thick, blocking out the cold as well as making it harder for others to get a grasp on his soft skin beneath. | GULLIBLE: He is a very gullible and very forgiving dog. Its rather easy to take advantage of him mentally. DOESN'T KNOW HIS OWN STRENGTH: Tasks that require him to be delicate or careful are nigh impossible for him. He truly doesn't know the strength he possess, and his clumsy nature doesn't help either. One should not trust him with fragile items. SENSITIVE: Grizzly is very sensitive. He is quick to tears, and doesn't do well in high stress situations, that otherwise 'fry' his brain and overload him. THICK FUR: When he gets hot, he gets really hot, forcing him to stop whatever he's doing at the risk of heat stroke. He's not the best swimmer either due to his fur bogging him down, despite his love for water. JUST TOO BIG: He's big. He's clumsy. Stealth is nearly impossible for him. |
MISCELLANEOUS | |
Grizzly once tried to be a Falconry dog. It went well for a moment - he utterly adored his 'little birdie friend'. Unfortunately, like with all small and fragile things, he accidentally killed the poor thing by stepping on it one day. Its a haunting subject for him, and also why he somewhat fears being around pups, despite his innate love for them.
