Feel free to skip that part if you don't like to read or don't care (but some of it talks about potential future changes, so you might wanna at least skim it!).

Spotlight Player: Crypt

• They went through a really rough time but still managed to be active in the chat and get posts up and everything. I really like their determination and how friendly they are in the chat, as well.

Featured Personal Plot: Zhiva Joins the Dodgers

• Zhiva and all the shenanigans she is bringing by becoming a Dodger, from the iconic dog herself to her fun siblings. She's got a lot going on and I cannot wait to see what comes out from everything she's doing! How the pack leaders are reacting, how the pack will react, how Zhiva herself is reacting. I am thrilled and on the edge of my seat!

Best Character Development: Guinevere IV Von Ethel

• Guinevere has always had my eye and she actually did something selfless, she ran back to save Corona and Fire. That's pretty impressive for the mostly selfish dog, I think that warrants some huge development on her part! Plus I love all her realizations that she is a stray and no longer able to boss the humans around.

Fan Favorite Character: Fire

• she's got quite the mouth and it's been fun reading her threads! She seems like she's got a lot of potential and I can't wait to see what she gets into. Dynamic and fiery, I love being surprised by her.


• Fire definitely lives up to her name! I've only read one thread with her and I'm already in love ~ she's a spitfire and I love those kinds of characters

Spotlight Thread

• I can't help it, this has been an entertaining thread from the start and I'm thrilled to be involved! I am excited to see what happens and reread everything that's been said between Guin and Fire. They were getting spicy and it made me laugh.


• I can't not vote for this one, even though I'm part of it. I really love the clash between Fire and Guin and I've enjoyed being a part of it so much.


• It is so fun to see guin and fire bite back at each other, with guin being sassy and fire being blunt. even with their differences, fire still tries to save guin, (while still being angry). this thread has made me want to see more of guin and fire, and it shows that fire is still a born-leader, and will defend others even if she doesn't want to.

Topsite Voting Reminder

You guys have been voting like animals and we seriously thank you all for it! As a reminder, though, please make sure you’re waiting at least 24 hours between each vote! Unfortunately, votes made before the 24 hour mark do not count (and the topsites won’t tell you that). So, please make sure you’re voting properly!

Clarification Regarding Rare Slot Wanted Ads

We’d like to clarify that we will not be mediating Barc Shop items transferred between players. This means that if you decide to create a rare breed adoptable and have purchased and given a rare breed slot to a potential adopter, only for that player to disappear, we will not be mediating or refunding you for that lost slot. Providing the slots to rare breed adoptables are at your own risk.

The reason for this clarification is because if we refund you for the slot, that doesn’t exactly make it a one-time-use item. Even if the player dropped off the planet, the item is still used up and non-refundable.

More may be added to this in the future as needed. For any questions, please reach out to either Sammiie or Silvy , or post a question on the Help Board or Help Channel.

Survey Results

We must give a super-huge thank you to everyone who filled out our latest survey! You guys helped us a ton with seeing what you all want and need from us and Infidelis as a site! We’re going to just go through what we saw as a response below, and hopefully give a little insight on how that may affect Infidelis’ future.

Character Surnames

For the most part, the response to this was positive. Many of you were iffy on the different format of the last names, but nothing is decided yet. If we do go with this, of course it will be mandatory, though there are no definite plans towards implementing this yet!

Character Birthdays on Application

This one was a simple and straightforward question, and the majority response was positive. Given this is a relatively small and easy update, we’re implementing this now. See ‘Updates’ section for more about this!

Spotlights

The majority of you like the idea of having Spotlights around, both nominating and being nominated. However, from the answers we received, it seems that most of you don’t nominate due to either laziness or not knowing who to nominate -- which we understand, it can be hard to pick characters each month!

Many of you asked for anonymous nominations, and while we understand the desire for this, we won’t do this because we’ve tried it in the past. Understandably with different people and a younger Infidelis, but it really flopped. We test-drove it for two months, and a whole one person used the system to nominate spotlights. This is why we’re not keen on the subject, sorry.

We can, however, do anonymous voting via polls. This kind of solves both problems - removing the ‘hard part’, the nominations, while also implementing anonymous voting. How it works is the votes are hidden from all voters until the poll is ended or locked, so no one else will be able to see the votes except for us - and we’ll still be able to award everyone their voting kibble and such!

If we do go this route, we may switch up the categories to make them easier to vote on via a poll by potentially removing Spotlight Thread and Spotlight Quote. While those are awesome categories, they’re undoubtedly the hardest to choose... and if it’s just going to be Staff picking the nominations, then it’s going to be even harder. It’s easy to pick a player or character that stands out, but hard to pick one thread or quote out of so many potentials.

We’ve made no decisions on changes for this quite yet, though with all the information you guys gave us, we can finally start planning a way to make Spotlights easier for everyone to participate in! When we make a decision on this, trust and believe, it’ll find its way into a future Chronicle! C:

In-Game Time

This one is pretty straight forward. The majority voted for 2-month-long in-game months. We agree with this, too, given that was the way we were trying to do it in the past before the plots started slowing us down significantly. We’re implementing this one now, too, see below!

Player Ranking System Goals

Last but not least, the majority of you voted for Rank-Up Goals for our Player Ranks. Ask and you shall receive! While we’re not implementing this today, we’re working on coming up with fair and challenging goals for you all to be able to meet and eventually climb our Player Rank ladder!

June is Here!!!

The new month is here! Yay!

This is our first month without a running plot, so it may feel a little weird and different. We’d really like to see you all focus on your player-driven plots! This is a great time to get your characters’ storylines a-moving! We don’t have any future plans for plot-months quite yet, though we do plan to do small plots and weather events in the future!

As voted upon in our recent survey, each month going forward will last two real life months before it’s changed! Given we don’t have a plot event slowing us down, there will be no reason we won’t be able to stay true to this!

With the timeline’s retirement, we’d decided in a later newspost that we were going to give you all a detailed paragraph describing the weather for that month. There will be a description provided in a reply below this post, attached in each month-change newspost. These posts will always be linked to in our header table - found by clicking the current month’s box.

Updates

Added a Ko-Fi Button

We’ve decided to add a Ko-Fi button to take donations from our wonderful members! The money you guys donate will be used for contest prizes. Since all contest prizes at the moment come out of pocket for us, if we had more funding, we could potentially commission better art and provide better prizes for contests and events on Infidelis.

Of course, donations are not mandatory and will never be mandatory -- but any donations are greatly appreciated always! C:

Moderator Application

Filling our moderator spot is a future plan, however, we thought it wouldn’t hurt to see what potential lies in our members! If you think you have the time and experience to fill our moderator spot, please fill out the application! It’s a little long, so please set aside the time to answer all the questions and really give it your time.

We probably won’t do anything with your applications right yet, though it’s good to have them when we do decide to fill it! Having a third musketeer to our staff team definitely looks good on them days when both Silvy AND Sammiie are busy!

Character Birthdays on The Application

As per the positive response to this on our latest survey and given its a relatively small change, we’ve decided to implement this immediately. It will be updated on our app template and guide, and you all may make the necessary changes to update your current characters’ applications to add birthdays as well!

While we don’t particularly think we’ll be too strict on the matter, it’s probably not too realistic that your character knows and remembers the day to the T, since they’re animals and they don’t have calendars and such CX We think its reasonable for them to know the month, at least, probably through weather cues, moon phases, and other natural time-tellers. However, if you want to list their full birthday on their application, we’re not going to nitpick on that. Just try to be as realistic as possible when potentially using birthdays in your characters’ threads!
